How Much Does Pest Control Cost in South London? (2027 Prices)

Pest control in South London runs from about £170 for a straightforward mouse treatment to £855 and up for whole-property heat treatment. Here is what each job actually costs, and what moves the number.

Most firms in this part of London will not give you a figure until someone has been out to look. That is understandable, because the price genuinely does depend on what they find. It is also unhelpful when you are standing in your kitchen at nine at night trying to work out whether this is a £100 problem or a £600 one.

So here are real numbers. These are our published prices, they exclude VAT, and they are starting points for a standard domestic property.

Why London costs more

Published price guides consistently put London pest control 20% to 30% above the national average, and one price-modelling service puts the gap at around 24%. That is travel time, parking, congestion charges, and the simple fact that a technician covers fewer jobs a day here than in a rural county.

It also reflects the housing. Terraced Victorian stock with suspended floors and shared roof voids, and converted flats where a mouse problem in one unit is a mouse problem in three, both take longer to finish properly than a detached house on its own plot.

What actually moves the price

  • The pest. Bed bugs and cockroaches need programmes. A wasp nest is usually one visit.
  • The number of rooms. Bed bugs, moths and fleas are priced per room, not per property. A one-bed flat with two affected rooms costs more than a three-bed house with one.
  • How long it has been going on. A mouse heard last week is cheaper than a mouse heard since the spring.
  • Whether proofing is needed. Treatment removes what is inside. Proofing stops it coming back, and it is quoted separately.
  • When you need us. Evening, weekend and same-day attendance carries a premium across the industry.

Is the council cheaper?

Sometimes, and it depends entirely on your borough. Research published by the British Pest Control Association in 2026 found that 46% of UK local authorities now provide no pest control service to residents at all. Of those that do, most charge private tenants and owner-occupiers for every treatment.

Where councils are still competitive is basic rodent work. Where they usually are not is bed bugs, moths and fleas, which is also where waiting times tend to be longest.

A single-visit price is not cheaper than a three-visit price if the problem needs three visits.

Red flags in a quote

  • A flat whole-house price for bed bugs under £150. That is one spray with no follow-up, and it will not work.
  • A firm price over the phone without being asked about the pest, the property size, or how long it has been going on.
  • No written quote or invoice.
  • Pressure to commit on the doorstep, especially with a today-only discount.
  • A survey fee of £50 to £100 before anyone has done any work. Plenty of firms charge this. We do not.

Questions we get asked

In our prices, yes. Rodent work is two to three visits and bed bugs two to three, and the stated price covers them. Always ask, because not every firm includes them.

Where work is guaranteed and the treated pest returns within the cover period, we come back at no charge. That does not apply if the agreed proofing was never carried out, or preparation instructions were not followed.

We can give you a realistic estimate from what you describe, and we will be honest about the range. The firm price comes once a technician has seen it.

No. Some London firms charge £50 to £100 for an initial visit. We do not.
