Cockroach control in South London

Common in flats, blocks and commercial kitchens. Cockroaches need a treatment programme, not a single spray, and they rarely stay in one unit.

Signs you have cockroaches

Cockroaches are nocturnal and hide in warm, humid places, so the evidence usually appears before the insect does.

  • Live insects when you turn a kitchen light on at night, running for cover
  • Small dark droppings like ground pepper along worktop edges and inside cupboards
  • Shed skins and empty egg cases near fridges, kettles and under units
  • An oily, musty smell that gets stronger as numbers build
  • Activity around the fridge motor, dishwasher, boiler or behind tiling
  • Smear marks in humid corners and under the sink
Cockroach control in a South London flat

German cockroaches breed indoors year round and are the species we see most in flats. Finding one usually means a population already established nearby.

How we treat cockroaches

A programme, because egg cases are protected from most treatments and hatch after the first visit.

01

Survey

We identify the species, which changes the whole approach, and map the harbourage points.

02

Treatment

Targeted gel and residual treatment applied directly to harbourage, not sprayed around the room.

03

Monitoring

Monitors placed so we can see whether numbers are falling rather than guessing.

04

Repeat visits

We return to catch each hatch. Most programmes run two to three visits over several weeks.

What affects the price

We quote after inspection, because cockroaches in a studio flat and cockroaches in a restaurant kitchen are different jobs.

  • The species and how far it has spread
  • Whether it is domestic or commercial premises
  • How many units or rooms are involved
  • How many visits the programme needs
  • Whether adjoining flats also need treating

Common questions

I live in a flat. Will treating mine be enough?
Often not on its own. Cockroaches move through service ducts, pipework and shared voids. We will tell you straight if the block needs treating, and give you a written report to take to the freeholder or managing agent.
Does it mean my kitchen is dirty?
No. Cockroaches need warmth, moisture and the smallest amount of food residue. They turn up in clean homes, and they very often arrive with deliveries, packaging or second-hand appliances.
Will one visit clear it?
No, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you a visit rather than a result. Egg cases survive the first treatment, so a follow-up is not optional.
I run a food business. What do I need?
Treatment plus documentation. We provide a written report after every visit that an Environmental Health Officer will accept as evidence of adequate pest procedures.
